Before medical school, I spent a gap year researching Bacillus anthracis at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD. Within dermatology, I’m interested in transplant dermatology, skin of color, and tropical skin diseases.

    My name is Yatziri Moreno, and I’m originally from Hammond, IN. I completed my undergraduate studies at IU Bloomington, where I majored in neuroscience. Within dermatology, I’m particularly passionate about autoimmune and autoinflammatory skin conditions, and I’m deeply committed to advancing health equity within dermatology. My goal is to help make dermatologic care more accessible and inclusive for all communities.

Within dermatology, I am passionate about autoimmune diseases and complex medical dermatology. Additionally, I am especially interested in the intersection between dermatology and global health.

I am a very visual person and being to physically see the differences when treating patients is very rewarding. I also think the diversity in the type of diseases and patients you get to work with is also rewarding as well.

I worked as a dermatology medical assistant before medical school and am passionate about public health and advocacy.

    My name is Amber Nelson, a second-year medical student at Indiana University School of Medicine, originally from Northwest Indiana. Before medical school, I worked as a pharmaceutical scientist, contributing to COVID-19 vaccine and drug development. My passion for dermatology is driven by a commitment to health equity, with specific interests in skin color, sexual and gender minority dermatology, and improving access to inclusive care. Through my role as Co-Lead for DTAD, I hope to promote education, mentorship, and advocacy within the field.
