Senator Clarence Lam, MD, represents District 12 in the Maryland Senate, serving Anne Arundel and Howard Counties. A physician and public health leader, he serves on the Senate Finance Committee and previously served in the Maryland House of Delegates before being elected to the Senate in 2018. His background includes training in medicine and public health, as well as ongoing work in preventive medicine and health policy.
Crystal U. Aguh, MD, is an Associate Professor of Dermatology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Director of the Ethnic Skin Program. Her work focuses on skin and hair disorders that disproportionately affect minority populations, with particular expertise in alopecia and scarring hair loss. She is a nationally recognized speaker, researcher, and educator whose work has helped elevate the conversation around equity in dermatologic care.
Delegate LaToya Nkongolo represents District 31 in the Maryland House of Delegates, serving Anne Arundel County. She serves on the Judiciary Committee and is a Deputy Minority Whip. Delegate Nkongolo has a background in social work, behavioral health, higher education, and community leadership.
Meet the Team
Magdi Elghannam is a co-founder of Maryland Dermatology Trainee Advocacy Day and a fourth-year medical student at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He is currently completing a research year at Johns Hopkins, where his work has focused on dermatology research, advocacy, and patient-centered initiatives. Magdi is passionate about physician advocacy, health policy, and improving access to dermatologic care.
Nathan Kattapuram is a co-founder of Maryland Dermatology Trainee Advocacy Day and a fourth-year medical student at Georgetown University School of Medicine. He is currently completing a research year at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where he is further developing his interests in dermatology, research, and advocacy. He is committed to advancing trainee engagement in health policy and patient advocacy.
David Diep is a medical student at the University of Maryland School of Medicine with interests in technological innovation and equitable dermatologic care.
Alisa Forsberg is a medical student at the University of Maryland School of Medicine with an interest in advocacy and dermatologic care.
Dakarai Dunbar is a medical student at the University of Maryland School of Medicine with interests in advocacy, medicine, and improving patient care.
Elizabeth “Libby” Will, MD, is a first-year dermatology resident at Johns Hopkins and serves as the resident liaison for Maryland Dermatology Trainee Advocacy Day.
